Seven Stars Arts Center is pleased to be honoring the conservators, donors and volunteers who made restoration of our historic stage curtains a reality last October.

Christine Hadsel, chief conservator with Curtains without Borders, will be presenting the story of her work on scores of historic stage scenery projects in northern New England. She will explain the steps involved in restoration and show photos of some of the amazing curtains she has helped restore. Don’t miss this chance to fully appreciate our beautiful curtains, whose restoration Chris described as “basically a rescue operation”. The curtains themselves had been rolled up for years, and the “ears” were badly worn. All had to be thoroughly cleaned, mended and touched up by expert painters with a good eye for matching colors.

The restoration was made possible by a Cultural Facilities Grant through Vermont Arts Council and the support of donors to Seven Stars Arts Center
