About this Event

Synopsis:

Ivoclar UK would like to invite you to join us on October 21st/22nd 2022 for our 2 day Masters of removable prosthetics event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the BPS (Biofunctional Prosthetic System). The event will be held at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre, Beeston Lane, The University of Nottingham, Nottingham NG7 2RJ

Since it’s introduction, the BPS (Biofunctional Prosthetics System) has provided dental professionals around the world with a systematic workflow to enable both the clinician and dental technician to work alongside one another to produce dentures that meet the increasing demands of our patients.

The system is trusted by dental professional and has been used as a base to develop some of the most successfull and accurate techniques for producing removable and implant prosthetics including the Dr Jiro Abe SEMCD (Suction Effective Mandibular Complete Denture) technique and most recently, the Ivotion Digital Denture System.

Aims:

This 2 day event aims to deliver an in depth look into all aspects of the system and explain the evolution of the BPS and Ivotion Digital Denture System detailing how they are enabling dental professionals to deliver consistent results by providing premium solutions for their patients. By deep diving into topics, including those which are rarely covered, participants will be shown the full range of applications of both systems, how they are intrinsically connected and cover exactly what a real understanding of the systems will enable participants to achieve in their everyday workflow.

We have carefully designed this 2 day programme to take you on the interesting evolution of the system, from its roots in the original Gnathomat, how this led onto the development of the Stratos articulator, UTS Transferbow and set up templates right up to the system being used to develop the Ivotion Digital Denture System which now enables beautiful Digital Dentures to be delivered in just 2 appointments., we will cover all topics in greater detail than ever before.

All speakers are true leading removable experts and will be sharing their insights into the techniques, meaning the 2 days promise to be full of incredibly useful information, tips and tricks as well as examples of the real world applications by those who use the systems everyday.

The event aims to provide a unique and in depth look into all aspects of the BPS and Ivotion Digital Denture system to enable delegates to improve their knowledge and understanding as how best to use the full range of indications for the systems.

Lecture Title 2: Unlock the potential of Therapeutic denture and Digital denture fabrication

Lecture Description: Kenji will focus on patients with class 2 and class 3 occlusions, In these situations, patients request not only a denture of high quality, but also with excellent aesthetics, especially those with class 2 or class 3 jaw relationships. Depending on the individuals situation and the maxillomandibular relationship, more advanced ideas and techniques may need to be used to achieve maximum success for the patient. Of course, the finer details of the application of BPS must be carefully considered to achieve successful results in class 2 or class 3 patients, however, to also meet the demands for an exceptional aesthetic outcome, there needs to be special ideas to gain complete patients satisfaction when using the BPS method. Kenji will show several new examples related to the topic and using his own actual patient cases, he will explain the points to look out for in order to fulfill the functional patients expectations and also achieve a satisfactory aesthetic result.

Lecture Title: Optimal success with Suction effective mandibular complete denture (SEMCD) using digital technology

Lecture description: The application of suction effective mandibular complete denture (SEMCD) offers many advantages, including the simplicity of its procedure, and an increase in denture retention which leads to an improved feeling of denture security, jaw relationship, and ultimately, a higher level of patient satisfaction. While the procedures involved are simple, there are some traps along the way that may result in an imperfect denture. With recent digital technology, many of those traps can be avoided. The purpose of this lecture is to introduce the application of SEMCDs using digital through my case report.

Mr Thomas Doblander

Thomas completed his apprenticeship as a dental technician in Germany in 2002. After acquiring his university entrance qualification, he worked for DENTSPLY DETREY for 6 years before joining Ivoclar Vivadent AG in 2016. Initially, he worked as a product manager and was responsible for the portfolio of artificial teeth and denture base materials. In 2016, he secured the position of Manager Global Education Technical at the Ivoclar Academy in Liechtenstein where he his is responsible for the training of dealers, customers and employees in the field of removable prosthetics and digital dentures worldwide. In addition, he lectures internationally at congresses and events. He also holds the title of BPS Technical master instructor.

Lecture Title: A Clinical & Technical approach to creating aesthetic and functional digital dentures for the edentulous patient.

Lecture Description: For some years now, the focus has also been on the fabrication of removable prosthetics using CAD/CAM technology. In the dental laboratory, the development of appropriate advanced hardware and software, as well as suitable material is being increasingly adopted and has already become well established. On the clinical side, however, not all work steps can yet be digitized on the patient. Therefore, a system is needed that combines the known basics on the clinical side with the new technologies in a satisfactory way. The Ivotion digital denture system allows the dental professional to use both analogue and digital approaches, resulting in incredibly accurate, functional and aesthetics dentures.
